Sinkhole Information

Is there a sinkhole forming on your property?

The Jefferson County Engineering Department does not investigate sinkholes or related hazards on private property and does not have the equipment or resources to conduct subsurface investigations.

If you suspect a sinkhole, consider contacting a geotechnical engineer or professional geologist with experience in karst geology and sinkholes. A qualified professional can evaluate the property, determine possible causes, and recommend appropriate measures to address potential hazards.
